Welcome to Vale Park Animal Hospital. Our history begins with the practice purchase in 1990, by our founding partner, Dr. Jerry Rodenbarger. At the purchase, the clinic was a 2,100 square foot facility and operated with two veterinarians and approximately eight support staff. Over several years, Dr. Randi Olson and Dr. MaryAnn Sheller partnered with Dr. Rodenbarger. The three owners remodeled and expanded our facility in 1994. The practice is now a busy 5,400 square foot facility, giving veterinary care to small companion animals (primarily feline and canine). Alongside our hospital owner’s we have two Associate Veterinarians, Dr. Bill Donohue and Dr. Kim Juhlin. In addition to our staff we have a Practice Manager, Office Manager, four Registered Veterinary Technicians, and approximately twenty-five support staff.
We are proud to have some of the warmest people in veterinary medicine employed with our hospital. Even though our practice has grown tremendously, we work to maintain the “small clinic atmosphere.”
Our five doctors have various special interests with continued education in several different areas including: animal behavior, canine reproduction, orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, oncology, chiropractic, and integrative medicine. We also offer “puppy training classes”.
Our state of the art equipment includes: ISTAT (in-house blood machine), pulse-oximeter (monitor’s patient heart rate and oxygen rate of the blood), IV infusion pumps (administers intravenous medications), Ultrasonic Scaler/Polisher unit (for dental use), x-ray machine with automatic processor (radiographs), Vetronics ECG machine (measures patient heart rates and rhythms), Vetscope (scope used for visualizing inside patient anatomy), and Therapeutic Laser (utilized for therapeutic purposes), plus a Novapulse surgical laser (laser used in surgical procedures in place of a scalpel). |

Our heartworm and intestinal parasite screenings are sent to an outside laboratory. The intestinal parasite screening uses centrifugation for the most accurate results. We also utilize the expertise of a local veterinary laboratory, Clinilab for a wide variety of blood, urine and tissue tests. Samples are cycled twice per day giving most results within twelve hours for clinician review.
