Meet Our Doctors | Meet Our Staff
All of the veterinarian’s at Vale Park Animal Hospital believe in continued education. It is their belief that being educated and informed of the evolving changes in veterinary medicine is essential. Our clinicians are members of multiple veterinary organizations such as the local Calumet Area Veterinary Medical Association. They are also members of Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, and nationally American Veterinary Medical Association.

Growing up in West Lafayette, IN, “Dr. Jerry” was destined to be a “Boilermaker”! He is a 1979 graduate from Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Jerry’s professional areas of interest are small animal (dogs and cats) and equine. He also has a special interest in orthopedics, soft tissue surgery, and reproduction. Dr. Jerry is a primary surgeon at Vale Park Animal Hospital. He uses the latest in surgical technology, and is well skilled with our hospital’s surgical laser.
His wife, Linda, teaches 2nd grade and together they have raised three great children (now in college). Outside activities include church, community volunteerism, virtually all sports, and travel. |

Dr. Randi Olson is a 1986 graduate from Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine. She worked for a mixed animal practice in Crown Point, Indiana for three years before joining the team at Vale Park in 1989.
Dr. Olson enjoys challenging internal medicine cases and has a special interest in animal behavior. She is a member of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior and the Veterinary News Network. Dr. Olson is a published author in various community newspapers. She believes knowledge is power and that client education is paramount.
Dr. Olson has lived in Valparaiso, Indiana since the age of three. She is the proud mother of two teenage boys, and dogs and cats. She enjoys reading and spending as much time outdoors as possible. Walking Lake Michigan beaches, hiking in the woods and cheering her boys on in sporting events are a few of her favorite activities. |

Dr. Mary Ann Sheller is a 1984 graduate from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Sheller enjoys soft-tissue surgery and has a special interest in canine reproduction, breeding and infertility. She has been certified by Synbiotics Corporation, Inc. since 1994. Our facility is an official semen freezing center. Some of the reproduction services offered are fresh chilled breedings, infertility work-ups, and surgical insemination. Vale Park is the only certified semen freezing center in Northwest Indiana. Outside of the office Dr. Sheller enjoys piloting airplanes, traveling and spending time with her animal children. |

Dr. Kimberly Juhlin is a 1990 honor graduate from Veterinary School at Massey University in New Zealand. Throughout her career her interests have been focused on small animal medicine and surgery. During her early years in practice her work was primarily with small animal emergency and critical care. She moved into General Practice at Vale Park Animal Hospital in 1997.
“Dr. Kim” holds a special interest in Integrative Medicine. Integrative Medicine combines western conventional medicine and eastern holistic traditions. Dr. Kim felt the need to have “more tools in her toolbox”. She felt limited helping animals with conventional medicine alone. Dr. Kim incorporates Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Nutrition Counseling, Nutrition Supplements and Herbs to assist her patients overall state of health.
Dr. Kim Juhlin lives in Valparaiso, Indiana with her husband Robert and animal children. She enjoys bicycling, hiking, gardening, painting and quilting. |

Dr. Bill Donohue was born and raised in Crown Point, Indiana until graduation from Crown Point High School in 1992. After high school graduation he enrolled at Purdue University Calumet where he graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. “Dr. Bill” pursued his Master’s Degree until acceptance into Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002.
While attending vet school, he was the proud President of Omega Tau Sigma (OTS), a social and community service co-ed fraternity. After graduation from veterinary school in 2006, he joined the practice at Vale Park Animal Hospital.
Dr. Bill quickly became a part of the Vale Park Animal Hospital family and developed a following in clientele and patients. Dr. Bill has a special interest in Oncology and internal medicine.
During his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Cyndi (who is also a veterinarian with a local practice) and spending time with his animal children. Dr. Bill is an avid football fan, he enjoys dining at restaurants and reading all fill his day. |

Jamie Irene joined Vale Park Animal Hospital in 2009. She was born in Indiana but moved to Missouri in her early childhood. She began studies in Accounting and Small Business Administration then married her husband Christopher who was enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. They lived throughout his career in North Carolina. Jamie worked for two Fortune 500 companies while continuing her studies at Craven. To begin their family, her husband separated from the Marine Corps, and relocated to Northwest Indiana. They had two sons and adopted a third. Jamie entered the veterinary industry by chance and enjoyed the customer service and management of veterinary practice. She was Practice Manager for another local veterinary clinic for five years prior to joining Vale Park Animal Hospital. Jamie is currently attending AAHA’s Veterinary Management Institute/Krannert Business College at Purdue West Lafayette. It is her goal to become a CVPM. Jamie enjoys spending time with her husband, children and traveling. |

Debbie Hanberry joined Vale Park Animal Hospital in 1990. Debbie moved with Dr. Jerry when he purchased Vale Park. Debbie was born in Kingsport, Tennessee. She made her home in Northwest Indiana in 1958. Debbie raised two daughters and has five grandchildren. She manages the customer service operation at Vale Park Animal Hospital and her number one motto is, “It’s not what you say, it’s how you say it!” She lives by this creed every day. One of the most rewarding benefits to her position is working with the clientele that make Vale Park Animal Hospital so special. Debbie is married to her husband John and they enjoy traveling and spending time on the lake boating and fishing. |

Jaclyn Rodriguez joined Vale Park Animal Hospital in 2007. She was born in Crown Point, moved to Granger, and then back to the Valparaiso area. Jaclyn is a first degree black belt in Taekwondo and traveled all over the United States to compete. Jaclyn recently married her husband Joseph Rodriguez on 11-11-11, and loves the married life. Jaclyn graduated from Purdue University, North Central earning a double Bachelor’s in OLS and Human Resources. While working as a Receptionist at Vale Park Animal Hospital, Jaclyn pursued her degree’s and after graduation was promoted to the management team. Jaclyn currently manages community outreach projects and works alongside the Practice Manager with practice marketing projects. Jaclyn enjoys mothering her animal children, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. |

Caryn attended Ball State University earning her Bachelors of Zoology and Chemistry. Caryn has been part of the Vale Park family since 1991, as a Technician, previous manager and Training Coordinator. She enjoys working at Vale Park because she is always encountering something different and learning something new. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband Ken, riding and driving her horses and attending her son Tyler’s extra-curricular activities. |

Terri graduated from Purdue University earning her Associates of Applied Science. Terri has been in the veterinary care industry since 1983, and came to join the Vale Park family in 1997, as a Veterinarian and Behavior Technician. She enjoys working at Vale Park because she is able to utilize her technical skills and help clients with their pets and their behavior training. In her free time she enjoys riding horses, crafts, gardening, bike riding, hiking, cheering and attending Green Bay Packer games, fishing, and supporting her three sons (two of which are serving in the United States Marine Corps). Additionally, Terri runs her own business training animals and their owners. |

Connaught graduated from Purdue University earning her Associates of Applied Science. Conn has been in the veterinary care industry since 1977, and came to join the Vale Park family in 2002. Conn enjoys working at Vale Park because she feels that all of our doctors have expertise in diverse medical genres. She enjoys learning from each doctor and working alongside her friends.

“Liz” attended Bel Rea Institute of Animal Technology earning her Associates Degree of Applied Science. Liz has been a part of the Vale Park family since 2000, and spends the majority of her time tending to surgical and hospitalized patients. She enjoys working at Vale Park because of the caring doctors and co-workers that she is able to practice excellent medicine alongside. In her free time Liz enjoys training and raising American Quarter Horses for barrel racing and pole bending. Liz competes on the local and national level and enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband Sean. |

Diane has been part of the Vale Park team since 1994, as a Surgical Assistant. Diane spends most her day caring for dental patients. She enjoys working at Vale Park because her co-workers have become her second family, and the wonderful doctor care her animals receive. In her free time, Diane enjoys attending her daughters’ basketball and volleyball games, and shopping. |

Susan attended Robert Morris College earning her diploma in Accounting and Computerized Business Systems in 1991. Susan started at Vale Park in 2000, as a Receptionist and in April of 2011, was promoted to Bookkeeper. She enjoys working at Vale Park because of all the people she works alongside. She has a passion for horses and enjoys helping people work with their own horses using a humane, natural training approach. In her free time she enjoys working on her horsemanship, reading, watching her daughter swim, and exercising using the Feldenkrais method. |

Megan joined the Vale Park team in 2005, as a Veterinary Assistant and Assistant Puppy Class Trainer. Megan currently is our primary Floor Coordinator. Megan is also head of our “Relay for Life Team” and is always looking for new and exciting ways to help generate funds for cancer research. She enjoys Vale Park because of the family atmosphere, not only within our company, but with our patients and clients as well. Megan is a mother to her animal children including her geckos! In her down time she enjoys reading, playing with her dogs, taking her boat out on the lake to relax, running, and photography. |

Lindsay graduated from the University of Wisconsin earning a Bachelors in Zoology, as well as a Bachelors in Conservation Biology. She has been part of the Vale Park team since 2005, as a Veterinary Assistant. Lindsay is now a full time mother to her son Ethan, but works at Vale Park as a part-time Floor Coordinator. Lindsay is also one of our Relay for Life Team Captains and makes it her priority to find ways to help fund cancer research. She enjoys working at Vale Park because of the friendly staff and the close relationships she has formed with our clients. In her free time she enjoys running, reading, and playing with her pets. |

Jen has been with the Vale Park team since 2008, as a Veterinary Assistant. As a seasoned Assistant, she serves as a mentor to new staff and helps aide in their training. Previous to Vale Park Animal Hospital, Jen worked at the local animal shelter as an Animal Control Officer. Jen enjoys working at Vale Park because of the compassion shown by the veterinarians and staff. She also appreciates being able to witness the bonds our clients have with their pets, and share in their relationships and experiences. In her free time Jen enjoys bird watching, spending time with her family, gourmet cooking, and traveling. |

Jamie graduated from Morgan High School and has worked at Vale Park as a Receptionist since 1995. She enjoys her job because she truly loves helping clients and their pets. Jamie has two beautiful daughters, and a very spoiled “beagle baby”. In her free time she enjoys camping with her family, and shopping. |

Carol graduated from Central Catholic High School, and has been in the veterinary care industry for 15 years, joining the Vale Park team in 1996. Carol has a soft spot for her favorite breed of dogs which are cockers, and loves the Disney movie “Lady and the Tramp” for that reason. Previously, Carol was Vale Park’s Bookkeeper, but decided to retire. Due to her love of Vale Park she opted to stay aboard as a part-time Receptionist to continue serving our wonderful clientele. Carol also works for Starke County Humane Society as their Treasurer, and is always opening up her home to help the pets she can by giving them a loving home! In her free time she enjoys taking care of her pets, as well as the animals she has that board with her and husband Jerry. |

Stacy graduated from Portage High School, and has been in the veterinary care industry for 13 years. She joined Vale Park in 2000, as a Receptionist and has aided in training all of our front desk staff. She enjoys her work at Vale Park because of friendships she has developed between doctors, staff and clients. Stacy is a loving mother to her son and finds joy spending time with her son, husband and her dogs, cats, and goldfish. In her free time she enjoys crafts, puzzles, and keeping memories through scrapbooking. |

Margie has been part of the Vale Park team since 2006, as one of the front desk Receptionist. Margie loves her job because she enjoys working with our clients and helping them in any way she is able. Margie’s personality makes her natural at forging friendships with Vale Park clients. Margie is not only a mother to her canine children but she also has three beautiful daughters and a grown son. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, attending her children’s extra-curricular activities, napping and shopping. |

Gabrielle is currently studying Business Administration and Accounting at Purdue University North Central. She has worked at Vale Park since 2008, as a Receptionist and enjoys her job because of the family atmosphere that encompasses the clinic. Gabby (as her friends and co-workers call her) has plans to become an Accountant or pursue management after graduation. In her free time Gabby enjoys reading, writing novels, playing sports such as soccer, basketball, and tennis. |

Wendi has worked in the vet care industry for 5 years, and joined the Vale Park team in 2011. She enjoys working at Vale Park because of all the wonderful people she works with and the clients she encounters. She spends the majority of her time at local shelters volunteering and aiding them in finding their “true forever home“. Wendi also fosters and rehabilitates any animal that she is able to help! In her free time she enjoys playing with her dogs, volunteering at rescue and shelter organizations and shopping.

Jackie graduated from Lowell Sr. High School, and joined the hospital in late 2011. Jackie was a client before she joined our family and loves Vale Park because of the exceptional pet care, friendly staff, and great customer service we offer. In her free time, Jackie enjoys sewing, gardening, and attending her children’s extra curricular activities. |

Alison is a graduate from Prairie State College and received her credentials for becoming a nursing assistant. Alison joined the Vale Park team in 2005, as a Receptionist, and was promoted to her current position as Inventory Specialist. Alison is a mother to not only her four legged children but also has two beautiful children Samantha, and Joseph. Alison recently became Grandmother to her beautiful baby granddaughter Shelby. She enjoys working at Vale Park because of the friendships she has shared with co-workers over the years. Alison enjoys walking, bicycling, and reading and spending all the time she can with her grandchild. |

Barbra graduated from Indiana State University in 1974, with a Masters in Secondary Education. Barbara has been in the veterinary industry for 14 years, and has worked at Vale Park since 1996, as a Veterinary Assistant. She enjoys working at Vale Park because she loves interacting with the animals and clients. Pets bring so much joy to her life and it is very rewarding for her to be part of a team that helps animals stay healthy and happy. In her free time, Barbara enjoys photography, reading, travel, and taking care of her animal children. |

Dana has been part of our Vale Park team since 1999, as a Veterinary Assistant. She enjoys working at Vale Park because her love of caring for animals and educating clients. In her free time Dana enjoys spending time with her family, and watching her grandchild that lives overseas on webcam! |

Jamie graduated from Vet Tech Institute at Fox College with an Associates of Applied Science in 2011. Jamie joined the Vale Park team in 2009, as a Veterinary Assistant and found her niche in life. She decided to pursue her dream of becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician. Jamie will be sitting for her license board in the near future. Jamie says that the staff and doctors at Vale Park have become her second family. With her free time, she enjoys bowling, photography, spending time with family, playing with her animal children, and working out. |

Norma graduated from Hobart High School in 2004, and has been part of the Vale Park team since 2008. Norma really enjoys her position as a Veterinary Assistant because she works with such wonderful people. Norma puts forth her time, heart and energy into fostering pets until she is able to find them their perfect “forever” home. In her free time Norma enjoys fostering pets, walking her dog, kickboxing and watching movies. |

Jenna graduated from Brown Mackie College in 2010, earning her Associate of Science degree. Jenna has been part of the Vale Park team since 2010, as a Veterinary Assistant. Jenna has a passion for musical theater and has been acting since 2001. She has been in numerous shows such as Chicago, Grease, Oklahoma, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Color, Alice in Wonderland, and 1940’s Radio Hour. Jenna loves working at Vale Park because she feels blessed to not only work in the field she loves, but also to work with such amazing doctors and staff, Vale Park is truly her second family.

Brittany graduated from Valparaiso High School in 2008, and has been part of the Vale Park team since 2006. Brittany began her Vale Park career as a Kennel Assistant, and is now our Kennel Supervisor. In addition to this, she wears a dual hat as a Veterinary Assistant. Brittany enjoys learning about veterinary medicine and enjoys working with the doctors and co-workers at Vale Park Animal Hospital. In her free time she enjoys shooting targets, spending time with her nephew, socializing with friends, and spending time with her dogs! |

Katie graduated from Boone Grove High School in 2009, and joined the Vale Park team in 2011. Initially Katie began as a Kennel Assistant but has found her home as a Veterinary Assistant. Katie is a mother to her animal children including horses and dogs. Additionally, she has aided in finding many strays their forever homes! Katie enjoys working at Vale Park because of her colleagues and has found immense joy learning various skills and being challenged daily while working at VPAH. In her free time she enjoys working out, horseback riding, being creative and spending time with her friends and family. |

Robin graduated from Morgan Township High School, and has been part of the Vale Park team since 1994. Robin is our Kennel Manager, as well as, one of our Surgical Assistants. Robin enjoys Vale Park and working with the patients and relishes learning something new every day! Robin is not only a mother to her son, but her four legged children as well. In her free time, Robin enjoys horseback riding, playing pool, motorcycling, bicycling, and bonfires in the summer and managing her own farm! |

Tricia graduated from Purdue North Central earning her Bachelors of Marketing. Tricia has been part of the Vale Park team since 2010, and loves her job! Having the privilege of working with animals makes each day amazing. She especially enjoys her close workmates and stays busy assisting the entire hospital team with clinical procedures. In her free time Tricia enjoys good food and hanging out with friends and family. |

Sarah is currently a student at Purdue University, and is studying to pursue her dream of becoming a Veterinarian. Sarah joined the Vale Park team in 2010, as one of our Kennel Assistants. Sarah brings an enthusiasm and energy to our team. She joins us during holidays and the summer season. In her free time Sarah enjoys working out, fostering Lake Shore Paw rescue dogs, spending time with her family, and going to the beach. |

Jessica is currently studying Biology at Purdue North Central. Jessica joined the Vale Park team in 2011, as one of our Kennel Assistants. Jessica is a wonderful mother to her animal children. Her home is complete with bunnies, dogs, cats and a bearded dragon! She has added to Vale Park’s family atmosphere. In her spare time Jessica enjoys spending time with her pets, family, and friends, painting, photography, and cooking.

Erica is a student at Valparaiso High School, and joined the Vale Park team in 2011. She loves working and caring for our animal patients. In her free time Erica enjoys spending her family and friends, working out, running, spending time with her Labrador animal children, and pet sitting for her neighbors and friends! |

Brooke currently attends Wheeler High School, and joined the Vale Park team in 2012, as a Kennel Assistant. Brooke is eager to learn all of the skills needed in animal husbandry. She has aspirations to continue her education in animal science. She joined our practice through her high school’s work program and was offered a position with our hospital through her tenacity and eagerness. Brooke enjoys bowling, soccer, and walking her dogs as well as other dogs in her neighborhood. Brooke has a passion for animals and really enjoys working at Vale Park because she is able to care for and help animals on a daily basis. |
